shoulder update

My shoulder sucks…

It’s been more than a week since I last went to a jits class but my shoulder feels like it went back 5 months in terms of post-surgery recovery.  It hurts when I sit, type, walk, stand, lie down, do anything or nothing.  It’s a low level chronic pain inside my shoulder, not painful enough for me to say “ouch” but enough for me to feel uncomfortable.  This really bites.

If my shoulder is still this way in a few days (friday), I’m going to take a month of jiu-jitsu to recover.

Actually, since my shoulder is feeling this way, I should take a month or two off anyway.

I have the same shoulder problems at the moment. Both of my shoulders are screwed up. My right shoulder got so bad that I could not even lift my arm. Now I have to do a month without jiu jitsu.

I took a week break and then went to do some judo. Very very light and still screwed it up. Hurts when you wake up in the morning, can’t sleep. this sucks and the thing is there is no guarantee that you wont get it in the future.

great blog, well done! i have subscribed to it just now

      yeah, shoulder injuries suck.

Have you had surgery or had it checked?

      Thanks!

    7. grappler Says:

No surgery, just physiotherapy and I have this shoulder cream that the doctor recommended. It is hard to tell if any of this helps though. I think all that counts is time and that sucks.

time and rest – you need the two together

      hope therapy helps

      – I always found that icing the shoulders at home helpful
